ROSA sincerely appreciates Ivan Marchuk's cooperation and trust in using his painting “Awakening” to adorn ROSA Gallery stretchers' labels.
The artwork symbolizes the restoration of Ukraine's Independence. The lines and circle in the solar plexus reflect infinity and joy. The image of a Ukrainian woman embodies eternal beauty, decorated with ribbons of the colours of the blue sky and golden spikelets. This canvas, created by the voice of Ivan Marchuk's soul, combines light and shadow, a palette that goes beyond the mundane, providing spiritual elevation and peace, and bringing back a sense of freedom.

ROSA Gallery stretcher canvases are made from 100% hand-primed cotton canvas. It is suitable for acrylic, oil, and other types of paints. Cotton canvas is softer and more elastic than linen and has a less pronounced texture, which is ideal for classical painting. ROSA Gallery cotton canvas has a strong sizing that prevents the paint from going through to the backside and is coated with a modern acrylic primer that forms a strong white elastic film after drying. The ROSA modular subframe is made of strong, quality dried glued wood, keeps its shape well, and does not warp over time. Hand-stretching enables us to achieve the effect of a “drum” stretch. Sizing and primer are applied to canvases by hand, in several coats, with the help of special brushes and rollers. Manual work allows us to control the quality of the product at each stage and preserve the weaving structure of the canvas.
