The artist cultivates a realistic style of cityscapes, expressed through her own watercolor painting technique. Anna loves light that gives architecture a million shades and shadows that hide answers to various questions. Her works have red accents that create a mood and make them recognizable and popular among collectors.

“First of all, watercolor is a labor for me. I literally broke my head! I'm used to painting with oil “from dark to light”, but with watercolor it's the other way around! It was very difficult! Classically, watercolor is supposed to be light, and that is understandable. But for me, it's also an opportunity to try different materials. I mean, the magic lies in the combination of the right paper, professional brushes that do half the work for you, and paints that, when mixed, immediately create 3D effects on the palette,” - says Anna Kataian.
