Our partner, Olena Viniarska, is an artist who began her creative journey at a mature age and independently honed her artistic skills.

Since childhood, the artist dreamed of painting. It was fate that Olena studied at Lviv University of Trade and Economics and The National Academy of State Administration of the President of Ukraine. She worked as a chief accountant for a long time.

Eventually, the time came and children's dreams began to come true.

The artist took lessons in academic drawing and participated in master classes with famous masters: Ihor Mosiichuk, Ihor Yurchenko, Halyna Otchych, Oleksandr Bryksa, and many others. Olena Virianska constantly learns and improves her skills, drawing inspiration from books.
She works with watercolours, pastel, and mixed media techniques. The architecture of the old city, with its ancient gates and cobblestone streets, is filled with stories of the people who lived, loved, and mourned here. This rich history is reflected in the artist's paintings. Her understanding of herself and the amazing world around her inspires her to create new works of art. The artist aims to express her impressions and engage the audience in co-creation, allowing everyone to contribute their own memories and feelings, thus becoming co-authors of her works. Dry pastels were her first medium and true love. She is captivated by the amazing tactile sensations when her fingers engage directly with the artwork, the brightness of the colours, and their velvety texture. Pastels, like precious velvet, change shades depending on the angle of light.

Later, the artist discovered watercolour, which brought a sense of wonder and co-creation, the magic of the interaction of paint, paper and water, where the artist is only part of the miracle that either happens or does not.

The artist took part in the art project of the Lviv Regional Charitable Foundation “Torba” dedicated to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Klyment Sheptytsky Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life in Lviv ‘Portrait of the Museum: Lviv Skansen’. The exhibition featured three watercolour works by the artist.

In the summer of 2021, two first solo exhibitions of the artist's works took place in Lviv.

In January 2022, the artist participated in the festive event “Watercolour Evenings”, which was dedicated to the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the International Watercolour Society “IWS Globe Art Network”. Inspired by the event, she created the work “Christmas Morning”, which was selected for the International Watercolour Exhibition in Vietnam “Vietnam in Aquarello 2024. Colours of Cultures” and was included in the top 50 works among those presented at the exhibition.

Olena Viniarska participated in the Interregional Watercolour Exhibition of the Bukovyna Watercolour Association in February 2024. Her watercolour painting “Dreamer” has been selected for display at the All-Ukrainian and International exhibition “Sea of Watercolours 2024”, which will be held in Kyiv and Odesa this autumn

ROSA is sincerely grateful to Olena Vinyarska for her collaboration and incredible work ‘Smile of Autumn’, which adorns the cover of the ROSA Gallery watercolour sketchbook in turquoise colour. The painting immerses us in a unique city with a captivating atmosphere, interesting history, and distinct character.

The spiral binding allows you to quickly and easily open and close the sketchbook, it's easy to turn the pages, and thanks to micro-perforated pages it's easy to tear out paper from the general block. The sketchbook is ideal for working with watercolours, water markers, and liners. It is also suitable for gouache paints and acrylics.
