Summer in Odesa is more than just the sea and the sun. It’s about the mood, the colours, the unique architecture, and the stories frozen in the maze of cosy streets.
This distinctive atmosphere was beautifully captured on canvas by around 30 artists and painting instructors from across Ukraine who took part in the large-scale plein air event “The Pearl of the South”, organised by the NGO “The World Through the Eyes of Artists.”
From 27 June to 11 July, colourful, sunlit Odesa turned into a true open-air studio. It was more than just a plein air event — it became a vibrant creative hive where the exchange of techniques and ideas enriched every participant. Each sketch became part of a larger artistic mosaic, revealing Odesa as seen through the eyes of those in love with art.
ROSA proudly supported this creative initiative, as we believe it is precisely this kind of synergy that gives rise to true art and opens a new chapter in Ukrainian painting.
The result of the two-week creative marathon was a large group exhibition, which opened on 10 July at the Bulgarian Centre (9 Ivana Lutsenka Lane, Odesa).
There are still a few days left to see sunny Odesa through the prism of dozens of unique artistic perspectives!
ROSA is delighted to be a partner of events that foster and promote Ukrainian art. We wish the plein air participants that the Odesa sun will forever remain in your palettes, and that the sea breeze inspires bold new themes! May this creative journey mark the beginning of new achievements, successful exhibitions, and an endless flow of inspiration.
We would like to thank Valerii Velikii, founder of the NGO ‘The World Through the Eyes of Artists’ and artist, for organizing this large-scale creative event.
