The winning students of the ROSA paint manufacturing competition

On May 19, the winners of the 6th season of the ROSA Student Day Contest visited the ROSA production facilities!

Our guests were a group of students from the Lviv Polytechnic Professional College of the Ukrainian Academy of Printing, including contest prize winners Liliia Svyryda and Khrystyna Horodechna, accompanied by their teacher Olena Zhminka Khoroshaieva. The trip became a special gift for them.

The main goal of the visit was to discover how their favorite paints are created and to find new sources of inspiration.

The future artists explored the full process of creating professional art materials, from the initial idea to the finished product. They saw how watercolour, acrylic, oil, and gouache paints go through complex stages of production:

• Researching raw materials and developing unique formulas.
• Creating the first test samples in the laboratory.
• Scaling up production, ensuring strict quality control, and carrying out final packaging.

A special highlight was the demonstration of handmade paint production. Participants had the opportunity to create Cadmium Lemon watercolour paint by hand using a glass muller, just as artists did in centuries past, and compare it with the colour produced at the factory. This experience allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of the production processes and the complexity behind every tube of paint.

The future artists also had the opportunity to explore the full production cycle in the woodworking workshop. Our guests were fascinated to observe the traditional process of creating canvases, the hand priming of fabrics, and to see firsthand how much dedicated work goes into every ROSA canvas.

During their visit to the ROSA office, participants met with the specialists from the R&D department, where new ideas are born, innovative products are developed, and the future direction of our product lines is shaped. The students attended a presentation on acrylic paints and put theory into practice by comparing different ROSA acrylic paint ranges.

To conclude the excursion, participants took part in a masterclass on painting cotton shopper bags using specialized acrylic paints. Each participant created a unique accessory that will remain a warm memory of this creative journey.

We truly value open dialogue with those who work with our materials every day. We are sincerely grateful to each participant for their honest feedback, constructive suggestions, and trust in ROSA brand.
